Unbeelievable tractor-trailer crashes near I-95

Delaware State Police are  on scene of a one vehicle crash involving an overturned tractor- trailer hauling live bees, The accident took place at Delaware route 896 northbound on ramp to Interstate 95 near Newark.

It followed another  big rig  accident to the north that closed  a section of highway  for hours.

Troopers are advising that the ramp is closed with swarms of bees in the area. Reports indicate 20 million bees were in the trailer.
DelawareOnline.Com reports some workers have been stung.Troopers advised  motorists to avoid the area and plan alternate routes of travel.Earlier in the day, troopers were called to the scene of a crash involving a tractor-trailer hauling power equipment which struck the underside of an -95 overpass on Route 1 in the area of the Christiana MallAt 2:15 p.m., Tuesday, Otho V. Sprawls, 38, of Batesville, Texas was driving a 2013 Freightliner Tractor Trailer traveling Route 1 northbound approaching the I-95 northbound overpass, hauling a flatbed trailer carrying a large aluminum modular power substation.

As the tractor trailer continued on Route 1 northbound, the substation struck th overpass, scattering debris onto the roadway. The debris struck a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta operated by James A. Botts, 79., of Lancaster, Pa. which was traveling Route 1 northbound behind the tractor-trailer.

No injuries were reported.
Route 1 northbound and the I-95 northbound “flyover” ramp to Route 1 northbound remained completely closed to traffic at the time into Tuesday night. DelDOT crews were inspecting  the area for structural damage.
