Mark and Lanie Salebra, who run six Kent County McDonald’s restaurants, were recently honored as recipients of the Golden Arch Award. The Golden Arch Award is a global McDonald’s honor that is awarded to owner/operators every two years.
The award is earned by less than 1 percent of McDonald’s franchisees at its 33,000 restaurants around the world. Golden Arch Award winners are deliver a superior customer experience, who give back to their communities, and become leaders whose actions build brand trust in McDonald’s.
Lanie is a third generation owner/operator who has followed her father and grandfather into the business, while Mark is a second generation owner/operator. The two even have McDonald’s to thank for their relationship, as they met while both attending Hamburger University, McDonald’s training institute, and were married a year later.
The Salebras are committed to the McDonald’s brand and their Dover community, where they reside with their 3-year-old son, Max, according to a release from McDonald’s.
Their organization, which employs more than 550 Delawareans, has been honored many times for its contributions to the region.
They have volunteered their time on more than two dozen local, regional and national McDonald’s committees and associations, all in the pursuit of consistently improving their company. For the past sixteen years, Mark has represented his fellow franchisees on leadership boards at the highest level of McDonald’s within the United States. Outside of their restaurants, they are leaders within their community and are involved with a number of organizations, including: The Delaware Restaurant Association; Toys for Tots; ARC of Delaware; The Ronald McDonald House of Delaware; Delaware Hospice; Kent-Sussex Industries; ServiceSource; Capital, Caesar Rodney, Smyrna and Milford School Districts; and countless other local causes.
