On Fridays, WDDE will offer its statewide new smagazine, The Green, starting at 3 p.m.
This collaboration will also aid the Mount Pleasant High School station that has struggled at times during its existence, while helping to launch of the careers of a number of people in radio.
The Brandywine Hundred area north of Wilmington has traditionally been served by WHYY, Philadelphia. Now, WDDE’s news operation will be able to reach a key area with its Delaware news and legislative coverage.
The collaboration will also develop a new youth media curriculum to give high-school students exposure to communication technologies that help create high-quality multimedia content, according to a release.
WDDE does offer live steaming of its programs, but the online share of the radio market remains in the single digits for many stations. Radio remains a popular option for commuters and the dial often remains set at the favorite station.
