[new_royalslider id=”92″]The Tanger Outlet Center in Rehoboth Beach announced the Tanger Midway location on Route 1 near Rehoboth Beach will get a $10 million makeover.

The project got underway February 26th. It includes not only a new paint scheme but also the construction of new tower elements, as well as new siding, lighting, and architectural details .

The seven-month project will feature the addition of a raised pedestrian walkway from one side of the Midway property to the other. Currently, taking a shortcut through the U-shaped center requires a trip through a busy parking lot.

The 19-year-old shopping center will also receive a renovation of the public restrooms in the former food court area.

The Tanger Outlet Center in Rehoboth’s Midway has 45 outlet stores in 186,000 square feet of retail space, including Michael Kors, Kate Spade New York, Dooney & Bourke, Cole Haan, Tommy Bahama, Polo Ralph Lauren, and Vineyard Vines.

  1. To whom it may concern,

Another great idea that you may consider for future improvements at the Seaside and Bayside malls in Rehoboth Beach, DE. In order to cut down the traffic congestion and driving time between two malls, it would be a great idea to build a pedestrian bridge over Route 1 (Coastal Highway) to connect Seaside and Bayside malls together.

In addition, we would like to suggest your business development department to be more selective about which retail store(s) to bring in — we need more high end outlet stores instead of cheap and low quality stores. You may need to know your competition near by Maryland such as the Queenstown Premium Outlets and other outlets in Ocean City.

I missed the LLBean store in Midway… more men’s stores… and better food court…

    Good luck and best wishes,
