Reuters is reporting that Fisker Automotive plans to launch production of the Karma and resume development of a midsize vehicle that had been slated for production in Delaware.

Pin Ni,  who heads the  U.S.  operations  of the Wanxiang Group, said  Fisker plans to resume production, perhaps this year. He said Fisker could move production to the U.S. as sales increase.

He said there are several options in the U.S., including a  “a potential partner out of Michigan.”

The former GM plant in Delaware is another possibility.

Wanxiang bought the remains of  Fisker in an auction ordered by U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington for $149.2 billion.
