Sussex County, Del.-based Prudential Gallo Realtors has affiliated with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.
The firm, which claims the largest market share in Sussex County, is now known as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Gallo Realty. Yard signs will feature the wine-colored logo of Berkshire. The real estate roll-up has been converting Prudential affiliates to the new name.
The company will be an affiliate and not under the ownership of the Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate headed by Omaha investor Warren Buffett. Berkshire Hathway owns or has controlling interests in everything from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad to Geico Insurance.
Berkshire Hathaway Home Services directly owns the former Prudential Fox and Roach real estate firm, which is one of the largest players in northern Delaware.
Gallo is among the first in this region to transition to the brand following affiliate launches in California, Connecticut, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia and Washington.
Gallo Realty, a full-service brokerage founded in 1979 by Sal and Bette Gallo.
Andrew Ratner, general manager and vice president, agreed. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our company and agents,” he said. “We have been the market-share leader in Sussex County the last couple of years, and our new brand will help us expand our resources and marketing tools to continue as the No. 1 brokerage. I’m confident that our clients will be excited as well.”
Ratner, the Gallos and their agents on Thursday marked their company’s start in the brand with a ribbon cutting and sign unveiling at a residential property in Lewes.
