Maryland Live Casino in Perryville showed a strong gain in revenue from a year ago as table games made an impact.
The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency reported combined statewide revenue totaled $66,840,380. The growth of Maryland casinos has hammered revenue in Delaware and led to calls for a lowering of the state’s share of revenues.
Hollywood Casino Perryville generated $6,620,506 from both slot machines and table games in November. Gaming revenue per unit per day was: $158.36 for slot machines, $2,780.87 for banking table games and $393.36 for non-banking table games. Hollywood Casino’s November 2013 revenue increased by $1,198,867 or 22%, from November 2012. Hollywood Casino Perryville operates 1,158 slot machines and 22 table games.
Casino at Ocean Downs generated $3,468,375 in November, and its gross gaming revenue per unit per day was $144.52. Casino at Ocean Downs’ November 2013 revenue increased by $152,895 or 4.6%, from November 2012. The Casino at Ocean Downs operates 800 slot machines.The venue is owned by the Rickman family, which also owns Delaware Park in Stanton.
Maryland Live Casino generated $53,422,841 from both slot machines and table games in November. Maryland Live’s November 2013 revenue increased by $19,057,659, or 55.5%, from November 2012. Maryland Live has contributed to a decline in revenue at Dover Downs.
Maryland Live also a chunk of business from Hollywood Perryville. However, table games have boosted revenue. However, other casinos opening in the Baltimore-Washington area could put further pressure on the site.
In a year-to-year comparison — excluding Rocky Gap Casino Resort, which opened in May 2013 — November 2013 casino revenue increased from November 2012 by $20,409,421 or 47.4%.
