Peruvian chicken is now available in north Wilmington.
The Chicken House has opened a restaurant on Philadelphia Pike at the site of the former Eppy’s Barbecue. A Chicken House has operated for a number of years on Capitol Trail, just outside Newark. As the name on the restaurant indicates, the prime attraction is rotisserie chicken with a blend of spices. The chicken also comes with a spicy sauce on the side.
The restaurant also offers a number of other Peruvian items on the menu. Capitol Trail also has another Peruvian establishment, Perucho’s. Peruvian food, which has Asian and other influences, has become popular in recent years, especially in the Washington, D.C. area. Dishes can include everything from fried rice to french fries and even hot dogs.
Also offering the chicken in Cheswold, near Dover, is Delicioso’s.
Philadelphia celebrity chef Jose Garces operating a restaurant with that theme for a time. That restaurant is being replaced with an establishment featuring Cuban food.
