Nomination deadline nears for Mega BizFest program

The Wilmington Office of Economic Development is accepting nominations for Thomas J. Moyer Awards as part of the Mega BizFest program.

The annual Mega BizFest Business Plan Competition showcases small, minority, and disadvantaged business owners in the city.

This year, the city will award $10,000 to the winners.

Applicants can compete in one of two categories: Emerging Businesses, start-up to five years, or Established Businesses, six or more years of operation. The Business Plan competition applications were due by August 3rd at 12 p.m. and, if selected, business plans must be submitted by September 13th at noon.

Members of the community may nominate outstanding prime and general contractors, small/ minority businesses and pioneers in business development for the Thomas J. Moyer Awards. Nominations are now being accepted and are due by August 30th at noon.
