Reuters is reporting that Fisker Automotive could file for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection this week. The news service says the U.S. Department of Energy is pressuring the company to file for Chapter 11. The department is looking to get at least some of its loan money back from a sale of assets.

The State of Delaware is also a creditor, with a $20 million investment in the company. Fisker had been slated to build a mid-sized plug-in hybrid at the former GM plant near Wilmington.
