A New Castle County Police canine team located a suspect in a domestic incident outside  a Newark-area home.

The suspect was identified as Grace Krawiec, 24, of Todd Estates.

On Monday at 11:50 p.m., County Police were called to the Todd Estates home after a report that a woman had brandished a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute with a man.

The man reported Krawiec followed him into a hallway with the knife. He was able to get away and the suspect left the home.

Police checked the surrounding area, but were unsuccessful in finding  the suspect. Called in was Corporal Edwin Mousley and his canine partner “Quattro.”

The canine team was able to locate Krawiec in the backyard as she attempted to conceal herself with debris between the shed and a stockade fence.   She taken into custody without further incident.

Krawiec was charged with possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony and aggravated menacing.  She was also charged with offensive touching for an incident that occurred earlier in April. She was arraigned and taken to the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institute after she failed to post $66,100 secured bail.
