Morrison named partner at Novak Druce

Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg LLP  announced the promotion of 12 attorneys throughout various offices of the firm, including Eamonn P. Morrison, who was promoted to partner in the firm’s Wilmington Del., office.

Morrison  represents clients in a variety of areas including patent counseling and opinions as well as litigation and prosecution in chemical and pharmaceutical matters.

Prior to joining the firm, Eamonn was a member of the medicinal chemistry departments of Wyeth Research and Bristol-Myers Squibb. While at both companies, Eamonn was involved in drug discovery efforts in the cardiovascular and metabolic diseases therapeutic areas. Morrison  received his law degree from the Villanova University School of Law in Villanova, Penn., and his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Ursinus College in Collegeville, Penn.

McLaren named public safety chief

W. Scott McLaren has been appointed to the position of Director of Public Safety at Delaware Technical Community College. In this role Scott will provide  leadership and oversight of the Public Safety Department at all campus locations. McLaren served as Chief of Police and Director of Public Safety at New Castle County Department of Public Safety.

Other positions held by McLaren during his tenure with the New Castle County Police Department included Detective, Detective Sergeant, Unit Lieutenant/Commander, Patrol Captain , and Lieutenant Colonel/Deputy Chief. He also served as Chief of Police at Elsmere Police Department and as Assistant Director of Campus Safety at Wilmington University.

Evain partner at McCarter & English

The law  firm McCarter & English, LLP  announced that Dr. Eric J. Evain has joined the firm as a partner in the Wilmington office.   Evain will focus on litigating complex intellectual property infringement cases. He was with Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg. For more than 15 years,  Evain has been litigating complex intellectual property infringement cases for many of the world’s largest chemical and manufacturing corporations.

After receiving his Ph.D. in organic chemistry,  Evain worked for over ten years as a corporate research scientist.  His experience spanned bench research through process development to full-scale production in the specialty chemicals, petroleum and polyolefin industries.

 Bailey, Nutter join NAI Emory Hill

NAI Emory Hill announced  that Ann Bailey and Ted Nutter have joined the firm as commercial real estate brokers and both will be representing all property types in Kent and Sussex counties out of Emory Hill’s Lewes office on Coastal Highway near Five Points.

Bailey is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and commercial real estate broker who was previously with Jackson Cross Partners and employed by the original Jackson Cross Company for 16 years. She specializes in multi-family properties and has more than 27 years of real estate experience in commercial brokerage.

Nutter  has held a Delaware real estate license for more than 35 years.  His experience and training has encompassed residential and commercial brokerage, new home sales, appraisal, property management, and real estate finance. Nutter is a former Executive Director of the Wilmington Economic Development Corporation and was responsible for securing millions of dollars of financial assistance for small businesses throughout the City of Wilmington and New Castle County. He also worked for the state as Real Property Administrator in the Department of Administrative Services where he negotiated commercial leases for state facilities.

He is a graduate of Lehigh University and earned a Master Degree from the University of Delaware College of Urban Affairs and Public Policy. Ted also served as a city councilman and deputy mayor in his hometown of Newark. He now resides in Dover.

Wilmington Trust veterans  join WSFS

WSFS Financial Corp., the parent company of WSFS Bank,  announced that Laura T. Phillips, Denise M. Allen and Robert M. Matsko have joined WSFS Bank. All three come from Wilmington Trust Company / M&T Bank and will serve in various capacities in Kent and Sussex counties.

Phillips is Vice President and Private Banking Relationship Manager.

She is responsible for serving the Private Banking needs of WSFS Wealth Management clients as well as cultivating new relationships throughout Southern Delaware.

She comes to WSFS with over 35 years at Wilmington Trust / M&T. A resident of Seaford, Phillips has a Bachelor of Science from Wilmington University, is Director, Secretary and Treasurer of Delaware Electric Cooperative and volunteers for the Delaware Financial Literacy Institute Bank at School program.

Allen is a Portfolio Manager for the WSFS Private Banking department where she provides client support in the delivery and maintenance of credit and deposit products, also in the Southern Delaware region.

Prior to WSFS,  Allen spent 31 years at Wilmington Trust / M&T serving in many roles. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Delaware and resides in Ocean View,  Del.

Matsko is Vice President and Commercial Real Estate Relationship Manager where he manages client relationships in Kent and Sussex County.Prior to his current role, he was Vice President at Wilmington Trust / M&T where he spent 16 non-consecutive years in the Commercial Real Estate and Commercial Banking divisions.

He also spent six years as a financial advisor for Merrill Lynch where he managed investment portfolios and retirement plans for individuals and business owners.  Matsko has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Delaware and graduated with Honors from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He is Series Seven licensed and is active with the Colonial Rotary Club of Dover, Kent County Ducks Unlimited and Holy Cross Church.

Kilian to serve on chamber board

Neil Kilian of NAI Emory Hill has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce for a three-year term.

Kilian is a Principal with NAI Emory Hill, specializing in multi-family and investment sales, site selection, land development, commercial sales and leasing.

He holds the distinguished Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation and is also active in several organizations including; the Commercial and Industrial Real Estate Council (CIRC), New Castle County Board of Realtors(NCCBOR), Delaware Association of Realtors (DAR), and the National Association of Realtors (NAR).
