Bank of America is seeking infrastructure funds for a processing center in New Castle County.

The request went before the state Infrastructure investment Committee at a meeting in Dover on Thursday. The committee recommended approval of the request.

Bank of America, like other big banks operating in Delaware, has pledged to add to total employment in Delaware. This comes as Bank of America cuts 16,000 jobs elsewhere. Some jobs have been eliminated and replaced by other positions.

Also before the committee was a $4.1 million request the New Castle Town Center retail project and $391,000 for a connector road project for the new Newark Charter High School.

The Soutbridge Educational and Recreational Facility Project is requesting nearly $1.9 million for infrastructure.
