A fan problem has been blamed for a fire of a Fisker Karma hybrid automobile in California, the website InsideEVs reported.

According to a release from Fisker, “engineers, working with an independent fire expert from Pacific Rim Investigative Services Group, has identified the root cause of the incident. It had been widely speculated  that the the vehicle’s massive battery pack was suspected in recent blazes.

Fisker has put plans to build a mid-sized plug-in hybrid automobile in Delaware on hold. This came after a federal loan was suspended, due to the California company  not meeting financial goals.

According to the release, the source of the fire was a low-temperature cooling fan at the left front of the automobile that overheated and caused a slow burning fire.
