Delmarva Broadcasting Company has announced the September launch of Delaware’s newest radio station, WXDE, Delaware 105.9, which will serve Kent and Sussex Counties. The station will also feature two long-time northern Delaware anchors.
The announcement also stated that longtime local radio host Dan Gaffney will anchor the station, which will go live on Tuesday, Sept. 4. The station will feature local, regional, national and international news, traffic, weather coverage and a talk show lineup.
Filling out the roster according to the station’s Facebook page are: Philadelphia-area radio veteran Susan Monday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the Delaware News Hour, with Alan Loudell, noon to 1 p.m.; Jared Morris, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.; Mark Fowser, news director; mornings; and syndicated financial talk show host Dave Ramsey 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Loudell will expand his noon news and interview show on sister station WDEL to a statewide audience. Fowser, like Loudell, is an alumnus of WILM-AM, a station that at one time had the state’s largest news staff. Morris, like Gaffney, also had a talk show on WGMD-FM.
Delmarva operates a number of stations in Delaware and Maryland, including WDEL, which has an AM signal that reaches a large part of the state.
The launch of Delaware 105.9 comes at a busy time for radio in central and southern Delaware. Late last week, WDDE-FM, 91.9 went on the air with National Public Radio programming and morning and evening drive hosts.

Thank God Sept 4 is almost here. GMD has been brutal without the friendly voices. Colley, the PD, will be podunked and sent back to NY in a few short weeks. Sussex County and Delaware does not need his kind.
Mornings are back to normal……..Gaffney!
Bill Coley & Dan Gaffney are my favorites. Shame they are opposite one another………..Never could stand Jared’s show (too silly).
SUSAN MONDAY SHOW IS THE MOST BORING SHOW I HAVE EVER LISTENED TO. BETTER FIND SOMEONE MORE INTERESTING.
