Delaware has struggled to get fast-growing start-up companies outside the Philadelphia orbit. Last spring, CD Diagnostics disclosed that it would relocate to northern Delaware.

The health care start-up is developing a series of tests to detect the cause of joint pain. It is a member of the Delaware BioScience Associaton.

Company CEO is Richard Berkmeyer is no stranger to the state. He was a founder of Strategic Diagnostics, a Newark-based test kit company. He joined CD in 2011.

DelawareOnline.com reported this week that Keith Kardos is the chief science officer for the company as it prepares to move to the state from Wynnewood, Pa. DelawareOnline had earlier reported that the company is getting a $500,000 grant.
