The company is a major supporter of the arts through its continued operation of the duPont Theater, despite a tough economic environment. It does not hurt that its CEO, Ellen Kullman, grew up in Wilmington.
DuPont has been faring well on the financial front as new products fetch bigger products and the company focuses on faster-growing overseas markets.
