Eleven start-up companies submitted video pitches for this year’s Swim with the Sharks Video Pitch Competition.—now in its 5th year and with a Grand Prize totaling over $22,000 in cash and services.

Now in its fifth year, the winner gets a grand prize totaling over $22,000 in cash and services.

The Emerging Enterprise Center, business incubator, requires participants to submit a three-minute video pitch showcasing their company and describing how their prize package will be used to promote their business.

Submissions were received from a wide range of businesses and judged by a jury composed of judges from the Emerging Enterprise Center and leaders from the business community.  Judging was based on clarity of message, value proposition, the feasibility of the business concept and visual appeal. The finalists  are:

  • DEact Medical Solutions, a startup company that has developed a patent pending chemical technology that is capable of instantly neutralizing the active ingredients of unused prescription drugs, including opiates. Their mission:  to reduce opioid addiction and environmental contamination.  (View video pitch HERE)
  • Drone Workforce Solutions, a startup company that provides Drone Education and Training, Drone Operators and Drone Contractor Services. Their mission: to disrupt American industry using drone technology to improve their workforce and bottom line.  (View video pitch HERE)
  • Green Grazer Goats, an eco-friendly farming operation that works hard to turn problem areas into manageable property. Green Grazer Goats efficiently clear areas of noxious weeds and brush without the need for human labor, heavy equipment, dangerous chemicals – and at about half the cost.  (View video pitch HERE)

The winner of the Grand Prize of $22,000 in cash and services will be selected at the Emerging Enterprise Center Luncheon at the Delaware Contemporary on September 22, 2017, when all three finalists present a live pitch.  We will also have a second place winner chosen by the audience via text vote.
