Strong 2016 for Harvey Hanna and Associates

Harvey Hanna and Associates announced a strong 2016. The Newport-based commercial real estate firm announced the following: 

  • The Hyatt Place Hotel in Dewey Beach, the first-ever Hyatt brand in Delaware, continued to outpace projections, including off-season occupancy rates. Hyatt Place is part of the new Lighthouse Cove Resort complex (formerly Ruddertowne), a multi-phase multi-million dollar mixed-use redevelopment project owned by Dewey Beach Enterprises, with managing partner Harvey Hanna and TKo Hospitality Management Company, the hotel’s full-service hospitality provider. The Lighthouse Cove Resort complex will ultimately include 90-plus luxury residential condominiums; a conference center; recreational baywalk and newly expanded public beach; garage parking to accommodate year-round activity; and world-class restaurants and retail space.
  • Two phases of condominium construction at The Residences of Lighthouse Cove are entirely sold-out, including 16 Oceanside penthouse units and 10 new bayside units. Tracking the continued demand, 27 additional bayside units are under construction with spring 2017 delivery, of which eight are presold – along with a newly furnished model.
  • Both The Lighthouse Restaurant and award-winning Que Pasa Mexican Restaurant enjoyed another successful year. Total new employment at the Lighthouse Cove Resort is scheduled to exceed  500 full-time jobs by the year 2019.

The Twin Spans Business Park saw strong activity. The new tenants included: – Anchor Plastics (21,000  square feet ), a pioneer of plastic container manufacturing and blow-molding technology.

  • Choctaw-Kaul Distribution (104,000 square feet ),  a manufacturer and distributor of construction safety gear and equipment.
  • The Delaware Skills Center (35,000 square feet), New Castle County’s vocational training center.
  • Pride Garden Products (63,000  square feet ), a  garden container supplier and manufacturer.
  • Best Warehousing & Transport (157,000 square feet)
  • Hermann Warehouse Services (125,000 square feet.

Renewals included:

  •  The Speakman Company (83,000 sq ft) at Twin Spans in June 2016. More than 1,000 people now work at the 135-acre Twin Spans campus, home to companies including The Hibbert Group, Zenith Products, Tire Rack, Iron Mountain, PODS, and CEVA Logistics, among others.

At The Delaware River Industrial Park  located on Lambson Lane near the Port of Wilmington, new tenants included:  HHA welcomed new tenants included:

 – American Driver Training Academy (5,000 square feet)

– Vertical Forward (9,600  square feet), an East Coast supplier of the newly popular “Warrior” jeans, to Harbor View Drive.

 – Renewing and expanding was Mid-Atlantic Fulfillment (15,000  square feet ) and National Roll Kote (NRK) (24,000 square feet).  NRK produces and distributes quality rubber elastomer products, including a specialty “Elastakote” product line.

Leasing activity continued at the Creekwood Corporate Center and immediate area in 2016. Expanding on the 2015 renewal of the regional Social Security Administration (30,000  square feet), Harvey Hanna welcomed Mumford & Miller Concrete (2,300 sq ft) to 910 Basin Road.

At the  Newport Industrial Park, Tile Market of Delaware added 5,500 square feet to its 68,000  square foot showroom, warehouse, and corporate headquarters at 405 East Marsh Lane.

In total, Harvey Hanna  leased new space encompassing 590,616 square feet  and extended leases more than 207,899 sq ft in 2016
