All-day Wilmington TEDx slated for Aug. 24

Screen Shot 2016-08-15 at 7.39.23 AMSpeakers from 14 states and four countries will take the TEDxWilmington stage on Wednesday, August 24 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  at the historic World Café Live at the Queen in downtown Wilmington.

Speakers were chosen after an application process, which demanded, via written essay and video audition. The finalists are from all ages, races and walks of life. They’ll discuss life, society, technology, education, hope, healing, dogs, tigers, business, sex, drugs, rock ‘n’ roll and more.

“Our team was tasked with reviewing more than 100 applications for the 5th Annual TEDxWilmington Conference,” said Ajit Mathew George, founder and organizer of TEDxWilmington. “This year’s line up is very exciting, with an inspiring 12-year-old boy who is paying it forward, a young man who became a successful entrepreneur through dogged persistence and financial support from Sir Richard Branson, a United States Senator, uniquely creative performance artists and a slate of subject matter experts who will present new and unexpected perspectives on pressing issues of the day.”

Continental breakfast, lunch (gluten free and vegetarian options will be available) and refreshments are included in the ticket price of $100.
