Gillis Gilkerson completes renovation of Lewes apartments

IMG_0662Gillis Gilkerson, Salisbury, announced the completion of the renovation of Jefferson I Apartments  at 825 Kings Highway in Lewes, Delaware.

“It was great to have the opportunity to continue to build our relationship with The Severn Companies, said Dwight Miller, president, Gillis Gilkerson.  “This is the fourth affordable housing community we have partnered on and know that the renovations will add quality of life for the tenants and the surrounding community.”

Jefferson Apartments is a 41,050 square foot affordable housing community with 39 units in five 2-story buildings and a rental office.  The community was first built in 1981.  The renovation included the installation of new windows, doors, roofing, siding, flooring, appliances and HVAC systems.

“We have worked with Gillis Gilkerson before on other projects such as Hollybrook Apartments in Laurel, Dunbarton Apartments in Georgetown and Seaford Apartments in Seaford, Delaware,” said Jib Edwards, Jefferson Apartments, owner and president, The Severn Companies.  “We keep going back because they are on time and on budget.  When times were tough, Gillis Gilkerson helped us out.”
