Alberta Clipper system could bring 3-4 inches to central Delaware

Screen Shot 2015-01-21 at 3.36.53 PMOne to three inches of snow is possible on Wednesday in northern Delaware as a clipper storm makes its way through the area. A revised map issued late Tuesday predicted three to four inches could fall in a portion of  central Delaware.

A winter weather advisory is in effect from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

The snow started falling in early afternoon. Main roads remained in decent shape, due to applications of salt.

Delaware Department of Transportation crews will plow when snow accumulates to one inch.

The snow is expected to  continue to fall into the evening, making the evening commute more difficult.

The National Weather Service said a chance of snow and sleet is possible before noon, with snow to follow. . The chance of precipitation is 80 percent.The expected high is 33.

Snow showers are likely Wednesday, mainly before 10 p.m., with the low temperature around 29. The chance of precipitation is 60 percent in northern Delaware. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

The snow won’t hang around long, with Thursday’s high under partly sunny skies expected to be 40.

Winds are expected to be light throughout the period.
