On Thursday night,  Hall of Fame Chair Nick Lambrow, senior vice president and  President Delaware Division of M&T Bank, hosted  the 25th Annual Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame at Deerfield Country Club, Newark.

Two  new laureates joined  the  ranks of the Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame.  This year, Junior Achievement of Delaware inducted Verino Pettinaro who made his mark with Pettinaro Enterprises, Newport  and Robert J. Laskowski, M.D., retiring  CEO of Christiana Health Care Systems.  Proceeds will benefit 15,000 local JA students.

Established in 1990 by Junior Achievement of Delaware, The Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame recognizes  business leaders whose strategic management, invention, and innovation have positively impacted workforce and economic development in the region.

Pettinaro created Pettinaro Enterprises, which originated as a one person basement remodeling company and  is now a  real estate development, construction, and property management company employing nearly 350 people.

Pettinaro  is  involved in  the Riverfront area as one of two major developers. Pettinaro continues to seek growth opportunities in redeveloping  real estate in areas  where others often lack the ability to see the full  potential, according to a JA release.

The second laureate is Robert J. Laskowski, M.D., who will soon step down as  CEO of Christiana Health Care Systems (CCHS). Christiana Care  is the largest private employer in Delaware.  Under Laskowski, Christiana Care has added  several subsidiary activities, while expanding and upgrading its ts two hospital campuses

The Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame also included  a daytime student competition, the JA Future Leaders Roundtable, where High School students interact with current inductees of the Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame in a symposium format focusing on business ethics.  Working in teams with an adult business volunteer and peers from other high schools, students explore options, possible outcomes and unintended consequences of proposed solutions to a contentious business ethics case study.

Sponsors  of the Delaware Business Leaders Hall of Fame included  M&T Bank, Squatch Creative, Delmarva Power, K2 Advisory Services, LLC, Brown & Brown of Delaware LLC, Leon N.
