Meddings named SVP at WSFS

WSFS Financial Corporation announced that Gillian T. Meddings has joined WSFS Bank as Senior Vice President and Director of Innovation.

Meddings fills a new role at WSFS Bank and heads up the “WSFS Winnovation” team, tasked with exploring and implementing non-traditional banking initiatives that provide added value to customers, according to a company release.

Meddings has more than  25 years of experience in the financial services industry and has held Director roles in growth strategies, consumer marketing, corporate initiatives and product development. She has been part of the leadership teams at MBNA, Chase and most recently Sallie Mae, where she managed the product development for the private student loan business.

“Gill comes to us with a depth and breadth of experience that will strengthen our innovation efforts and boost our momentum,” said Mark A. Turner, WSFS  CEO.  We are excited to welcome Gill and her many talents to our senior leadership team.”

Meddings has both an undergraduate degree and a master’s degree from Oxford University in the United Kingdom. She lives in Wilmington, Delaware with her husband and two children.

Downing named VP at DSU

Delaware State University has named Dr. Stacy Downing as its new vice president of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.

Prior to this appointment  Downing served as DSU’s associate vice president of Student Affairs since August 2013.

With this promotion to vice president,  Downing will be part of the DSU president’s senior administrative council and will oversee the following departments and offices: Residential Education and Student Life, Career Services, Student Leadership and Activities, Public Safety, Judicial Affairs, the MLK Jr. Student Center, Campus Events Planning, the Wellness and Recreation Center, Health Services, Counseling, and Enrollment Management.

Prior to her arrival to DSU in 2013, Dr. Downing served as the vice president of Student Affairs for Philander Smith College from 2011-2013, as director of Student Activities and Leadership Development at the University of Cincinnati from 2006-2011 as well as other student affairs-related director and program director posts from 1999-2006 at that institution.

She also served as an adjunct instructor for freshmen seminar-type courses and graduate Educational Leadership courses during her tenures at both Philander and UC.

Downing has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati (in Ohio), a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from Xavier University in Cincinnati, and an Ed.D. in Urban

Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati.

Czachorowski joins Eckert Seamans

The national law firm of Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, LLC announced  that Aimee M. Czachorowski has joined the firm’s Wilmington office as an associate in the Litigation Division. Czachorowski focuses her practice on corporate and commercial litigation, including contract disputes and matters involving fiduciary duties and corporate governance. She represents a broad range of clients, including corporations, shareholders, directors, officers, and members and managers of alternate entities. She also has extensive experience representing clients in equitable matters in Delaware’s Court of Chancery.

Czachorowski received her J.D. and bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. She is admitted to practice in Delaware and Pennsylvania. In addition, she serves as the vice president of the University of Michigan Alumni Club of Delaware.

Mihok named partner at Archer

The Archer Group announced today that it has made Chief Financial Officer, Tim Mihok, a Partner and member of its Board of Directors.

As a Certified Public Accountant, Tim has been instrumental in the growth and success of The Archer Group. His background in audit, internal controls, and taxation was critical in establishing the organizational discipline that has enabled Archer to create a stable and predictable foundation.

“Tim does a great job of balancing the financial prudence of the organization while cultivating the Archer culture that we believe is second to none,” says Archer Principal Michael Derins. “He’s more than our CFO. He gets what we’re trying to do here, that we want to be an agency that truly stands apart, and he helps us figure out ways to make it possible.”

Two join Newark office 

Bill Lyons, manager of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox & Roach, Realtors  Newark Office, announced two additions  Crystal King and  Sherri Lierenz.

King is a member of the New Castle County Board of  Realtors  She resides in Bear with her husband, Henry, and their four children. King serves New Castle and Kent counties.

Lierenz is a member of the New Castle County Board of  Realtors and Delaware Association of  Realtors.

She specializes in investors and buyers. Lierenz resides in Bear with her husband, John, who is also a Realtor on the Ruckle Team, and their two daughters. She serves New Castle and Kent counties.

Moser named manager at Master, Sidlow

The Accounting and Consulting firm of Master, Sidlow & Associates, P.A., Wilmington, announced the recent promotion of Gregory Moser to Manager.  Moser joined  Master, Sidlow & Associates  in 2004.  Greg is a member of the Accounting and Assurance Services department and provides audit, accounting, and tax services to business and individual  clients.  Moser is a member of the Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American  Institute of Certified Public Accountants.  Greg graduated from Goldey-Beacom College with a degree in accounting.

Master, Sidlow & Associates, P.A. is a regional certified public accounting and consulting firm serving businesses primarily in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.  The firm provides accounting and auditing, tax, financial planning, and business valuation services.

Ogunlade joins Bayhealth practice

Bayhealth Women’s Care Associates in Milford expands their practice with the addition of obstetrician and gynecologist Busola Ogunlade, MD.

The practice is part of the Bayhealth Medical Group, a partnership of   physicians, their clinical staffs, and an administrative support team that operates practices throughout central and southern Delaware.

Ogunlade strives to provide each of her patients with individualized care. She  provides well-woman services, maternity and postpartum care for women of all ages.

Ogunlade earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Howard University in Washington, DC, in 1999, and earned her medical degree, magna cum laude, from American University of Antigua School of Medicine in 2009. She completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Upland, Pa., in 2014. During her residency, she was recognized for Excellence in Patient Care and Excellence in Medical Student Training.

She is a fellow of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and member of the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine, American Reproductive Health Professionals, and American College of Physicians.
