Yvonne Deadwyler was appointed President of the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce, effective March 18.

According to a release, the Board of Directors made this decision in consultation with Chamber Chairwoman Pam Scott.

“The Board of Directors is delighted that Yvonne Deadwyler has been selected as the next President of the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce. She brings to the position a wealth of experience with the chamber, especially as it relates to member engagement and events, and we are grateful for her leadership as Interim President over the last few months. We have no doubt that Yvonne will bring fresh ideas to the Chamber in promoting economic development, assisting small businesses, and providing value for our members. We look forward to her leadership of the organization in the years to come,” Scott stated.

Deadwyler had been serving as Interim President since January. She succeeded Bob Chadwick, who retired from the position in December 2023 after serving as Chamber President since 2018.

“I’m excited to accept this role to serve the local business community, lead the staff, and contribute my best efforts to build upon the success of the past and fulfill the chamber’s mission to support, promote, and advocate for the business community. I want to express my sincere gratitude to our board for entrusting me with this position,” Deadwyler stated in the release.
