Day and night closings began on Monday as bridge girders go up on the I-95- Route 896 interchange project.
The Delaware Department of Transportation announced tdaytime closing of the on ramps to Southbound I-95 from northbound and southbound Route 896 for bridge abutment excavation and nighttime closures of the Southbound I-95 off-ramp to Southbound Route 896.
Additionally, there will be northbound I-95 nighttime lane closures for bridge girder erection and nighttime lane closures on Route 896 for barrier painting.
RAMP CLOSING
· Monday January 29 through Friday February 2: Daytime Ramp Closures, Northbound and Southbound Route 896 to Southbound I-95. (7AM – 5PM). Detours will be posted.
I-95 IMPACTS
· Monday January 29 and Tuesday January 30: Overnight, Multi-lane Closure, Northbound I-95 between the Toll Plaza and the Route 896 Interchange (10PM – 6AM) and Rolling Roadblocks (12AM – 5AM)
· Thursday February 1: Overnight lane closure, Southbound I-95 approaching Route 896 Interchange (7PM – 7AM)
RAMP CLOSING
· Thursday February 1: Overnight Ramp Closure, Southbound I-95 to Southbound Route 896 (11PM – 6AM). Detour will be posted.
Route 896 IMPACTS
· Wednesday January 31: Overnight lane closures, Northbound and Southbound Route 896 between Glasgow High School and the I-95 Interchange (10PM to 6AM)
