The long-running The Chadds Ford Live hyperlocal news site has been sold to the stable of online properties owned by Delaware Shoprite CEO Chris Kenny and headed by Milford businessman and Delaware State Rep. Bryan Shupe.

Emily and Jim Myers have moved to Colorado and opted to sell the site to Kenny, whose other news sites inlclude DelawareLive, TownSquareLive and Milford Live. Emily Meyers also operated a computer consulting company.

Staying on will be longtime Chadds Ford reporter Rich Schwartzman.

Chadds Ford Live has been a wonderful presence in my life the last 14 years. When The Chadds Post went out of business, many of us didn’t want to lose our local voice and particularly Rich Schwartzman’s view and reporting of our community. Our solution was to develop a new publication, Chadds Ford Live. Rich and I worked without pay for a long period to transition to our new publication,”  Myers wrote in an email to friends of Chadds Ford Live.

Shupe will head the publication this month, supported by Schwartzman’s reporting, with Emily Myers continuing to be involved in the site.

The sale leaves DelawareBusinessNow as the only non-chain hyperlocal site in the northern Delaware-Chadds Ford area.
