On Veterans Day, Bloom Energy hosted its second Stars and Strides Delaware 5K Run/Walk

The event was held at the University of Delaware STAR Campus, the site of Bloom’s Delaware operation that employs about 800.

More than 500 participated in this year’s event, doubling 2022’s numbers. Also on hand were 100 volunteers.

All proceeds from the event benefit Stop Soldier Suicide and the Delaware National Guard Youth Foundation— two charities devoted to military and veterans’ issues in Delaware. Lead sponsor Chemours, the University of Delaware, and numerous other local organizations joined Bloom Energy to support the run/walk.

“We’re incredibly proud to host Stars & Strides for a second year in support of local organizations serving the military community. It’s truly moving to see hundreds of participants and volunteers come together in this way, whether it’s to race, support loved ones, or contribute to the causes this event benefits. We look forward to hosting many more events like this in the years to come,” said Barry Sharpe, vice president of manufacturing at Bloom Energy
