A post from the Untapped Insights newsletter listed Dewey Beer Co., Dewey Beach, as third in the nation when it came to the gain in the number of check-ins between 2020 and 2022. The Untapped App is free and is available on Apple and Android devices.

In terms of percentage growth, First State Brewing Co. in Middletown ranked first in the nation. First State ranked 19th in growth in the number of check-ins.

Iron Hill, which started in Newark and has three breweries in Delaware, ranked 12th in numbers growth. Iron Hill is now based in Exton, PA, and has over 20 breweries in the Mi-Atlantic, South Carolina, and Georgia.

The Untapped App allows users to list and rate beers and locate craft brewers that are often located in less visible warehouse-industrial areas in Delaware and other states. The developer of the Untapped app also sells brewery management software.

For years, Delaware law limited brewers to industrial-warehouse space unless they sold food as well as beer.

Both First State and Dewey have been ramping up production as the popularity of their beverages has grown.

In December, Untapped ranked Milton’s Dogfish Head tenth in the number of five-star check-ins.
