A 36-year-old woman from Newark said she had a lucky feeling while purchasing a two-play Powerball ticket with Power Play for the February 25 drawing, the Delaware State Lottery reported.

The woman purchased the winning ticket while visiting Wawa on Capitol Trail in Newark, but said she was completely shocked to find out her ticket matched all five white numbers with a 3X Power Play, taking the $1,000,000 prize to a total of $2 million before taxes.

Big wins are rare in Delaware, due in part to the state’s smaller market that limits the size of non-Powerball jackpots.

The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said she has been playing Delaware Lottery Draw Games for about five years. She likes Powerball and prefers to select her numbers using Quick Pick, as was the case during this particular visit.

“I was in disbelief,” the woman said. “I called my mom right away and told her the news of my big win.” When asked what she would do with her winnings, the woman said she would put the money towards buying a house and paying off debt.

The winning numbers from the February 25 drawing were 11, 24, 58, 66, and 67. The Powerball number was 26, and the Power Play number was 3X.

The woman waited a while and claimed her prize from the lottery headquarters on April 24.
