Delaware gas price unchanged in past week after brief upswing

Delawares gas prices remained unchanged from a week ago.

As of Tuesday, the price at the pump was virtually the same as the figure a week ago. There had been a brief upswing at times during the last week.

AAA has reported a slackening demand for gasoline, with the price of crude oil dropping below $80 a barrel. At the same time, there is optimism that demand from China will spring back as severe Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.

According to new data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gas demand dipped slightly from 8.43 million to 8.27 million barrels a day last week. Meanwhile, total domestic gasoline stocks increased by 2.3 million bbl to 241.9 million bbl last week. If gas demand remains low, drivers may see only moderate price increases, AAA reported.

According to the Fuel Finder, the lowest price at the pump in Delaware appeared to be at the Sam’s Club in Dover at $2.98 a gallon. That price is limited to club members who pay a $25 to $50 a year fee.
