Beebe Healthcare now offers laboratory and imaging services at the newly opened Milford Health Center at 100 Silicato Way.
Beebe Lab Express in Milford will offer a variety of services from simple blood tests to more complex testing. X-rays will also be offered.
Beebe’s fifth Walk-In Care Center is expected to open in the coming months at the Milford facility. Hours are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for X-ray and Lab. Walk-In hours will be daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Milford site opening reflects growing competition in Sussex County.
Bayhealth has moved beyond northern Sussex County into Beebe’s coastal stronghold. ChristianaCare, the state’s largest healthcare-hospital system has opened physician practices in the Rehoboth. TidalHealth, which earlier acquired Nanticoke Healthcare, Seaford, has added satellite offices and surgery sites in coastal areas.
Until fairly recently, the state’s hospital systems largely stayed in their home turf, with critics claiming that a lack of competition was a factor in the state’s high health care costs.
Health care providers have been eyeing Sussex county’s rapid population growth while working to address a shortage of health care personnel needed in serving an aging population that has flocked to the area.

Beebe Healthcare has three campuses: the Margaret H. Rollins Lewes Campus, which houses the medical center; the Rehoboth Health Campus; and the South Coastal Health Campus. Beebe Healthcare offers primary care as well as specialized services.
