The Augustine Inn Seafood and Chop House has reopened.
The restaurant is housed in a historic building near Augustine Beach in southern New Castle County. It comes with a Middletown address, but is some distance from the fast-growing town.
The restaurant closed earlier this year with one of the operators reopening the Metro in Middletown, now known as Metro Steak and Seafood. The restaurant is not to be confused with the Metro Diner, which has a Middletown location.
Augustine Inn remained closed for months, with renovation work taking place at the old building,
The historic inn has an interesting history and operated as a biker bar for a time.
Tommy’s opens in Christiana Mall
One of the long-vacant restaurants at Christiana Mall has a new occupant
Tommy’s Tavern and Tap opened its ninth location at a mall site with an outside entrance.
Tommy’s offers an expansive menu that includes burgers, pizza, and even sushi.
The company’s locations are mainly in northern and central New Jersey, with the exception of Delaware and Staten Island, NY.
The mall saw a couple of restaurants close in and around the time of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Booth House now open six days a week.
The Booth House Tavern is now open six days a week.
The restaurant and brewpub in Old New Castle is now open on Tuesdays but remains closed on Mondays.
Booth House had been open four days a week for a time in October.
Earlier, the restaurant announced a revised menu and a management change.
The historic building also houses the David Finney Inn and a coffee shop.
Kid Shelleen’s on a five-day schedule
Kid Shelleen’s newly opened second location in Branmar Plaza in north Wilmington has been a hit but like most of its counterparts, struggles on the staffing side.
It was announced via social media that the restaurant will close on Monday and Tuesday. Dinner will be served Wednesday through Sunday, with Wednesday through Friday hours for lunch.
The goal is to be open more days for lunch and weekend brunch as staff is hired and trained.
The original Kid’s is open seven days for lunch and dinner, with brunch on the weekend.
