The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for a large area of the region that will last into Monday night.
The area has been experiencing hot, humid weather that can precde severe storms.
The watch comes less than a week after a storm packing winds up to 87 miles an hour caused major power outages in Cecil County, MD.
