Effective immediately, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) lifted the requirement to wear masks while using public transportation.

The Delaware Transit Corporation (DART) will no longer be requiring masks to be worn on buses. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continues to recommend that people wear masks in indoor public transportation settings.

The agency will continue to monitor this situation and rely on guidance from the CDC and the Delaware Division of Public Health. DTC will also continue with our enhanced cleaning protocols on all our buses.

A federal judge in Florida ruled that the mask mandate was illegal and federal agencies decided not to fight the order, at least for now. The order was to expire in May. The Biden Administration will appeal the ruling.

Airlines had been seeking an end to the mask order, citing confrontations between flight crews and passengers.
