Delaware gas prices jumped by nearly 10 cents a gallon from a day earlier AAA reported.
Regular is now selling for an average of $3.70 a gallon.
Worries over the Russian invasion of Ukraine and a possible cut-off of Russian oil supplies have led to crude oil crossing the $100 a barrel mark. Russia was ramping up production and offering discounts to oil traders reluctant to deal with the nation dependent on oil exports to finance its invasion of Ukraine.
AAA’s Fuel Price Finder found relative bargains in scattered areas of the state.
The Costco store near Christiana Mall, south of Newark, and a Liberty station in the Lewes area were selling regular unleaded at about $3.50 a gallon. Many independents were charging $3.60 a gallon, according to the fuel finder.
Convenience store chains Royal Farms and Wawa posted prices of $3.80 a gallon, up as much as 20 cents from a day earlier.
