Down Syndrome Assn. opens DSA Cafe

The  Down Syndrome Association of Delaware has opened its new office and DSA Cafe at 1240 Capitol Trail,  east of Newark.

The DSA Cafe will provide employment and training for individuals with Down Syndrome. A grand opening featuring local elected officials and families was held this week.

The cafe will be open  Monday through Friday.

Hours are as follows:

Monday 7 a.m. – 2  p.m.
Tuesday 11 am – 10 p.m.
Wednesday 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Thursday 11 a.m. – 2  p.m.
Friday 7 a.m. – 2  p.m.

Founded in 1979, the DSA of Delaware is a statewide non-profit support group, organized and managed by parents of people with Down syndrome.
 
They aim to be a supportive resource, advocating for the acceptance and understanding that allows individuals with Down syndrome to achieve the same level of access and opportunity as their peers.
 
Membership is open to all parents, relatives, friends, and professionals.
 
Down Syndrome is a genetic condition usually associated with physical growth delays, mild to moderate intellectual disability and facial features.
