Vendetti named Central Delaware Chamber President

The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce board announced that Dr. Dina Carol Vendetti has been named the next President of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce.  

This comes, following the announcement earlier this Fall that current President, Judy Diogo, will retire effective December 31st.  

Since July 2019, Vendetti has served as the chamber’s Director of Marketing and Communications.   [Not a valid template]

She came to the Chamber after a 34-year career in school leadership, working as both teacher and principal.  In 2010, she earned her Doctorate in Organizational Leadership, Learning, and Innovation from Wilmington University.  Prior to her employment at the Chamber, Dina was heavily involved in various volunteer aspects of the Chamber since 2003.

Vendetti’s first official day as President will be January 3, 2022.  Current President Judy Diogo will be retained part-time as a consultant to assist with the transition to new leadership.  

ChristianaCare announces leadership changes

ChristianaCare has announced the following leadership changes to achieve its strategic goals.

Dia Williams Adams, MPA, has been appointed Vice President of Development. She leads the Development team and helps to secure philanthropic support for ChristianaCare throughout the community. She previously served as the Executive Director of College Possible Philadelphia.

William Bryant III, DNP, MBA, RN, has been named Vice President of Perioperative Services. He provides overall organizational leadership for clinical operations, performance improvement and financial performance for perioperative services for the Wilmington and Newark campuses. Previously he served as Senior Director of Perioperative Services at Montefiore Medical Center in New York.

Lauri Littleton, DNP, RN-BC, has been appointed Vice President of Patient Care Services for Women’s & Children’s Services. She provides overall organizational leadership for clinical operations, performance improvement and financial performance in Women’s & Children’s Services at ChristianaCare’s Newark Campus. She previously was a Nurse Manager on various patient care units at Christiana Hospital.

Leslie Mulshenock, MHA, has been named Vice President of Operations for the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute. She assumes this role in addition to serving as Vice President of Operations for ChristianaCare’s Center for Heart & Vascular Health.

Joan Pirrung, MSN, APRN, ACNS-BC, has been appointed Chief Nursing Officer for ChristianaCare Union Hospital. She previously served as the Vice President of Patient Care Services for Nursing at Union Hospital.

Matthew Powell, M.D., has been appointed Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, where he oversees clinical operations and strategic planning for all anesthesia services, credentialing, privileging and education. He previously served as Vice Chair of the department.

Kristen Raber has been appointed Vice President of System Integration, responsible for developing and maintaining a consistent, efficient and holistic integration approach to all internal and external integration activities. She also oversees long-term value creation, helping to advance strategic objectives through participation in the evaluation of acquisitions and managing related integration processes. She was previously Corporate Director of IT Cloud Innovation.

Tanisha Raiford, JD, MPA, has been named Vice President of Compliance and Chief Compliance Officer, overseeing corporate compliance programs. She previously served as the Chief Privacy and Chief Compliance Officer, Data Protection Officer, and Civil Rights Coordinator for Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York.

Anthony Reed has been appointed Vice President, Population Health Operations. He designs and implements population health strategy and programming to position ChristianaCare and associated networks to move successfully toward total cost of care and enhanced value for the community. He previously served as Vice President of Population Health Strategic Solutions at Ascension Medical Group’s Clinical and Network Services.

Eric Schantzenbach, MBA, FACHE, has been appointed Vice President of Change Leadership. Combining priorities of waste elimination, problem-solving, and employee engagement, this role serves as one of the strategic leads for continuous improvement adoption and implementation across the organization. He previously served as Administrator of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services at Nemours Children’s Health System.

Merchantile Processing names chief revenue officer

Mercantile Processing Inc., a Delaware-based merchant services and point of sale company announced the promotion of Kathryn McMillan to the position of Chief Revenue Officer. 

Kathryn has served as Director of Sales and will now hold the title of CRO. Kathryn has 13 years of payments experience. 

Fleming to be appointed to regional SBA post

President Joe Biden announced his intent to appoint John Fleming as  Region 3 Administrator for the Small Business Administration.

Fleming is the director of the Delaware Office of the SBA. Region 3 is comprised of Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, DC, and West Virginia.

Region 3’s is based in King of Prussia, PA.

Kelly earns LEED certification

Becker Morgan Group’s architectural designer, Megan M. E. Kelly, recently earned her LEED AP Building Design + Construction certification. Becker Morgan has offices in Delaware.

 The LEED AP BD+C designation distinguishes those with advanced knowledge in green building design with a specialty in design and new construction of green buildings. Kelly joins 12 other Becker Morgan Group staff members with the designation. 

Thompson Island names new head brewer

Justin Leahy is the new head brewer at Thompson Island Brewing Company, a Rehoboth Beach  brewpub owned by SoDel Concepts.

A graduate of the Siebel Institute of Technology Brewing School in Chicago, Leahy recently worked at Peace Tree Company, a craft microbrewery in Knoxville, Iowa. 

“Justin brings a wealth of knowledge to our team,” said Brewmaster Jimmy Valm, who oversees brewing operations at Thompson Island and the new Ocean View Brewing Company, which is under construction. 

Leahy is taking on more of the daily tasks in the Rehoboth brewpub, allowing Valm to get Ocean View Brewing ready for a spring 2022 opening.

The Thompson Island Brewing team now has five members.
