Colonial School District returns to remote learning

After a number of individuals in multiple buildings tested positive for Covid-19, the Colonial School District moved to remote learning effective Monday.

“This decision was not made lightly and we understand that this may cause disruption and frustration.  We will continue to keep the safety and well-being of our students and staff at the forefront of all of our decisions at all times,” a release stated.

The release noted that  asynchronous learning (self-paced online learning days for students – no teacher Zooms) was already scheduled for the week of November 23.

The New Castle-area  district expects to reopen school buildings on Nov. 30.Colonial, like other districts, started in-class instruction for students in the lower grades.

All areas of Delaware are seeing a surge in Covid-19 cases.
