About those duplicate emails

Good afternoon,

Last week,  a glitch in our Email campaign system led to many readers receiving this newsletter twice.

My apologies, even to the guy who threatened a lawsuit. Multiple Emails are annoying.

The glitch came after our Email platform Mailchimp decided I had sent too many test Emails and locked up that feature. The email limit is a good idea since a few users might be tempted to juice their traffic numbers.

The platform allows the Email to be replicated. However, yours truly forgot to disable the original Email template which went out with similar content and an outdated subject line.

The problem has since been resolved.

In a related matter, if you read this newsletter regularly, it’s a good idea to put our Email address in your address book. If you were like me, the Email ended up in the bulk mail “spam” file for a time.

A couple of cases have been reported in the past year or so regarding the Email newsletter not being delivered at all, even if the Email did not bounce back to us.

Corporate and government  Email security systems are always being updated and sometimes send message into  a black hole.

In such cases, it might be a good idea to use a personal email address. The email message is optimized for use on your smartphone or other mobile devices.

As always, thanks for your support and I look forward to sending out the state’s freshest business news summary tomorrow and Friday. – Doug Rainey, chief content officer.
