Coronavirus dashboard: Death toll rises by 1 to 414 with total cases passing the 10,100 mark

The dashboard is updated daily, normally during the noon hour. Figures are current as of 6 p.m. on the previous day.

General trends

  • Hospitalizations down.
  • New Castle County is catching up to Sussex County in the number of COVID-19 cases. Sussex has seen an outbreak of the virus.

The number of deaths from COVID-19 increased by one to 414, with the number of persons testing positive for the virus rising past 10,100.

Update, Wednesday, June 10

The number of deaths from coronavirus increased by three to 413,  according to the Delaware Division of Public Health.

The number of people hospitalized with the virus is moving toward the 100 mark after rising above 300 in April.  

Individuals who have died from COVID-19 ranged in age from 21 to 103 years old. Of those who have died, 220 were females and 193 were males. A total of 186 individuals were from New Castle County, 78 were from Kent County, and 149 were from Sussex County.

The most recent deaths announced today ranged in age from 65 to 85. Two individuals were female and one was male. One was a New Castle County resident and two were Kent County residents. All three individuals had underlying health conditions. Two were residents of long-term care facilities.

The number hospitalized remained unchanged at  108 with 17 critically ill.

Update, Tuesday, June 9

After a day with no reported deaths, the death toll rose by a dozen to 410. The number of people testing positive for the disease rose past 10,000. Hospitalizations are now moving toward the 100 mark. (Correction from an earlier post)

The most recent deaths announced today ranged in age from 30 to 100. Seven individuals were female and five were male. Nine were New Castle County residents and three were Sussex County residents. Eleven individuals had underlying health conditions. Nine individuals were residents of long-term care facilities.

The deaths were reflected in a decline in hospitalizations as the disease progressed. A total of 108 people are hospitalized, with 21 critically ill. Hospitalizations are down sharply from more than 330. The number of people currently hospitalized is 108, with the number critically injured at 21.

Update, Monday, June 8

For the first time since April, the Delaware Division of  Public. Health reported no new deaths from COVID-19. The number of positive cases rose by 30.   

Individuals who have died from COVID-19 ranged in age from 21 to 103 years old. Of those who have died, 211 were females and 187 were males. A total of 176 individuals were from New Castle County, 76 were from Kent County, and 146 were from Sussex County.

The number of hospitalizations rose by 10  to 113, with 22 critically ill.

Update, Sunday, June 7
 
The Delaware Division of Health reported that the number of deaths from coronavirus is nearing 400, with eight additional fatalities reported today. The number of people testing positive for the virus is nearing 10,000.
 
A total of 398 Delawareans have died due to complications from COVID-19.
 
Of those who died,  176 individuals were from New Castle County, 76 were from Kent County, and 146 were from Sussex County.
 
The most recent deaths announced ranged in age from 40 to 91. Three individuals were female and five were male. Two were New Castle County residents, four were Kent County residents, and two were Sussex County residents. All eight individuals had underlying health conditions. Three individuals were residents of long-term care facilities.
 
The number of persons hospitalized has dropped sharply after rising to more than 325. The number currently hospitalized is 103 with 20 critically ill.
 

Saturday, June 6 update 

The Delaware Division of Public Health (DPH)  announced two additional fatalities and 72 new cases related to coronavirus.

In total, 390 Delawareans have died due to complications from COVID-19. 

Individuals who have died from COVID-19 ranged in age from 21 to 103 years old. Of those who have died, 208 were females and 182 were males. A total of 174 individuals were from New Castle County, 72 were from Kent County, and 144 were from Sussex County.

The most recent deaths announced today ranged in age from 62 to 92. Both individuals were females. One was a New Castle County resident and one was a Kent County resident. Both individuals had underlying health conditions and were residents of long-term care facilities.

The number of people hospitalized declined to 117 with 24 in critical condition.
