The State of Delaware will be holding two drive-through  COVID-19 testing events on Thursday and Sunday south of the C&D Canal that are not within hotspot areas for the virus.

The focus in recent weeks has been on areas of Sussex County and northern Delaware.

Testing is also available at a few  Rite-Aid stores by appointment.

The tests could further assess the prevalence of the virus. A higher percentage of negative tests could give the state more confidence in decisions to reopen businesses and activities.

One test will mark the first use of the state’s inspection lanes for testing and will take place over Memorial Day weekend.
