Delaware Care Collaboration came up with $10.1 million in savings for the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) in 2018 – a 10.85 percent savings rate.
The collaborative is a partnership of Saint Francis Healthcare and the Medical Society of Delaware
The program achieved the 12th highest savings rate percentage among 548 Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) ACOs. The organization will receive nearly $4.9M in shared savings as a result. DCC earned a 98.64% overall quality score under MSSP pay-for-performance metrics.
Delaware Care Collaboration participates in the Track 1 MSSP, an alternative payment model aimed at increasing quality and affordability of health care for those on Medicare.
CMS shares savings with providers who succeed in meeting quality, performance and cost-efficiency metrics for an assigned Medicare fee-for-service population. DCC is the only ACO based in Delaware to have achieved this level of savings.

Over 10 million beneficiaries were cared for in 2018 by 548 Shared Savings Program ACOs.
The National Association of ACOs reports that according to data for that year, “66 percent of ACOs saved Medicare money.
