Good afternoon,

One cannot help but think about the late John McKay after walking through the Delaware Networking Station last night at the Chase Center on the Riverfront.

McKay, who passed away in 2015,  was the heart and soul of the annual tabletop event held in September. Sponsors are the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau Delaware

A tireless networker, McKay used a low-key approach and his extensive knowledge of the small business community to help keep the exhibition area full.

McKay loved to swap information and ask questions about new business moving in or out. If you said yes to a table, he worked to find a good location.

John would be pleased to know that the Networking Station is alive and well in 2018.

The event allows businesspeople to pitch their product and service while catching up with friends, colleagues, and competitors.

The price is affordable for small businesses and nonprofits and the mid to late September date coming after summer vacations and before holiday events is ideal.

John would have  gotten a kick out of seeing a DART bus in the exhibition area. The state transit system was marketing its new app which allows customers to access information and pay for their fares via a mobile device.

Here’s to John and to many more years for the Networking Station.

Have a great weekend. Doug Rainey, publisher.
