Perdue is launching a lower-priced brand of organic chicken with  Simply Smart Organics.

“Perdue is breaking the price barrier consumers often face with organics by providing frozen, fully-cooked breaded chicken products priced to sell for approximately half – or less – of the average of what consumers can typically expect to pay for competitive organic products from other leading brands,” a release stated.

Shoppers will begin seeing the USDA certified organic seal on the entire line of  Simply Smart fully cooked, breaded items at leading grocery retailers nationwide in early October.

According to the Organic Trade Association, organic food sales in the United States totaled nearly $50 billion in 2017, accounting for more than five percent of total food sales.

The product lineup includes whole grain, certified gluten-free and lightly breaded varieties of nuggets, strips and tenders in the frozen and refrigerated foods sections.
