Explanations range from weather to fewer seasonal rentals as the beach town attracts more year-around residents who now reside in former residents.
Over the years, there have also been concerns that rentals near the beach have become so expensive that families are opting to destinations in the Carolina.
At the same time, Rehoboth continues to become a year-around town with a vibrant dining scene and attractions such as the outlet centers outside town.
