Superior Court Judge Abigail M. Legrow  has been Assigned to the Complex Litigation Panel. [Not a valid template]

The panel hears corporate cases that come to Delaware, the state where many entities are incorporated.

She succeeds Judge William C. Carpenter, Jr., who will retain his current cases, according to a directive from President  Judge Jan Jurden,   Chancery Daily   (subscription) reported.

LeGrow was appointed to the Superior Court by Governor Jack A. Markell and began her tenure in 2016.

LeGrow received her J.D from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law and her B.A. in Political Science from Susquehanna University.

After graduating from law school, LeGrow served as a law clerk to Jack B. Jacobs on the Delaware Supreme Court.

Upon completing her clerkship, she practiced law at Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP, where she specialized in corporate and commercial litigation.

In 2011, she was appointed by then-Chancellor Leo E. Strine, Jr. to serve as Master in Chancery on the Delaware Court of Chancery, a position she held until her appointment to the Superior Court.

While serving as a master, LeGrow presided over summary corporate cases, trust and estate matters, real property disputes, and adult guardianship petitions.

Richards attorneys named top patent lawyers

Three Richards, Layton & Finger directors, Fred Cottrell, Jeffrey Moyer, and Kelly Farnan, have been named among Delaware’s top patent attorneys in IAM Patent 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Professionals 2018.  Richards Layton also received IAM’s highest gold firm ranking.

IAM Patent 1000  reports that Cottrell “is an ace at defending against lawsuits … and in interlaced IP and antitrust contentions,” and notes that Moyer is “a go-to for licensing disputes” who “can be trusted when the stakes are high. IAM praises Farnan as “unbelievably smart, an outstanding leader and a top-notch litigator.”

Cottrell is the head of Richards Layton’s IP Group and vice chair of the firm’s Litigation Department.

Moyer represents some of the world’s leading technology companies in intellectual property matters in the Delaware District Court and the Delaware Court of Chancery.

Farnan, also ranked in IAM 1000’s gold band, is a   litigator with wide-ranging experience in patent cases involving pharmaceuticals, electronics, telecommunications, and consumer products. 

Richards, Layton & Finger is based in Wilmington.

Ballard Spahr earns ‘Gold  Standard by Women in Law Empowerment Forum
