Laurel woman faces dozens of felony fraud counts after discovery of altered tips

A Laurel woman was released on $32,000 bond  in connection with charges of altering tips on customer checks.

Seaford Police were first called to the 2200 block of Sussex Highway  for a report of business fraud.

It was determined that Ashley Young, 29, Laurel,  allegedly altered, changed, or entered false tip/service amounts on customer receipts. The identity of the  business and  total dollar amount were not identified by police.

Documentation  was turned over to the Seaford Police Department Criminal Investigation Division.

A warrant was obtained and  Young was arrested on 43 Felony counts of Forgery 2nd Degree, 43 misdemeanor counts of Falsifying Business Records, and one  count of Theft by False Pretense.

Young was arraigned and released on $32,500  unsecured bond.
