Pasquale joins Incyte Corp. as EVP

Maria E. Pasquale joined the Incyte Corp.  Executive Management team as Executive Vice President and General Counsel.

She joins  Incyte from Celgene Corporation, where for 17 years she held positions of increasing responsibility including Chief Counsel and Senior Vice President, Legal & Deputy General Counsel, where she led the legal department through Celgene’s global expansion.

 Before her career in law, Pasquale was an Assistant Research Scientist at the Institute for Basic Research and the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, where she designed and implemented research projects in the areas of Alzheimer’s Disease and oncology, respectively.

Pasquale holds a Juris Doctor Degree from Brooklyn Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Gavin elected president of American Bankruptcy Institute

The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) has announced that Ted Gavin, CTP, a founding partner and managing director of corporate restructuring and public affairs strategy firm Gavin/Solmonese, has been selected by the ABI Board of Directors to be President. He became president for a one-year term at ABI’s 2018 Annual Spring Meeting, held April 19-22 in Washington, D.C.

With nearly 12,000 members, the ABI is the largest multi-disciplinary, nonpartisan organization dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency. Its members include attorneys, accountants, bankers, judges, professors, lenders, turnaround specialists and other bankruptcy professionals from across the country.

  Gavin has been an ABI member since 2003. He has served as Vice President-Development, co-chair of ABI’s Mid-Atlantic Bankruptcy Workshop and contributing editor for the ABI Journal’s Last in Line column. He formerly served as co-chair of ABI’s Financial Advisors Committee and is a former co-chair and education director of ABI’s Ethics and Professional Compensation Committee.

He received his B.S. in business and information systems in 1999 from the University of Phoenix. Gavin also attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, studying music theory and education.

 Allen Harim names Richard as senior vice president

Meat industry veteran Kyle Richard has joined Allen Harim as the new Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Richard has spent his entire career in various sales roles at major companies, starting in 2001 at Gold Kist Inc., a chicken producer based in the South that was eventually purchased by Pilgrim’s Pride.

In 2004 he moved to Mountaire Farms, where he spent eleven years working his way from Regional Sales Manager to Director of Sales. His career then led him to Pilgrim’s Pride in Greeley, CO   as Senior Vice President of Sales.  He was most recently at Chicago Meat Authority at Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

Richard has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Newberry College, in Newberry, S.C. He’s completing his Masters of Business Administration from Colorado State University in Fort Collins.

Delaware College of Art and Design elects president

Delaware College of Art and Design (DCAD) announces that its trustees have elected the College’s next president by unanimous vote. An innovative academic leader and experienced art and design professional, Jean G. Dahlgren, current dean of undergraduate programs at Sage College of Albany in Albany, N.Y., will become DCAD’s third president on August 1. 

  Dahlgren was selected from a pool of more than 40 applicants in   nationwide search coordinated by AGB Search. Known as the leader in higher education search, AGB was founded by the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges and is the only search firm that specializes in all aspects of executive search exclusively for higher education institutions.

  Dahlgren holds a bachelor of arts degree (BA) in fine arts/printmaking and a master of arts degree (MA) in fine arts/painting from the State University of New York at Oswego. She also earned a master of fine arts degree (MFA) in graphic design from Marywood University in Scranton, Pa.

Catherine Lyons to head company

Catherine Lyons  has assumed the post of  CEO of Lyons Companies, based near Wilmington.

She succeeds her husband David Lyons who died last month. SonsDave, Jr. and Tim also work in the business. 

Rainbow Pediatrics physician champion

Vibha Sanwal, MD, from Rainbow Pediatrics of Georgetown & Lewes, has been named a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Childhood Immunization Champion for her outstanding efforts to promote childhood immunizations in her clinic offices. The Division of Public Health’s (DPH) Immunization Program nominated the pediatrician for the award. 

Sanwal is recognized for embracing the Assessment, Feedback, Incentive & eXchange (AFIX) assessment process by reviewing patient charts against the Immunization Information System (IIS) and updating individual immunization records as patients came in during their scheduled office visits.
