SoDel Concepts is featuring grilled cheese creations in January at all nine of its Delaware restaurants. Examples include the Caprese-style grilled cheese sandwich at Matt’s Fish Camp in Bethany Beach, grilled cheese topped with lobster at NorthEast Seafood Kitchen and a grilled cheese sandwich made with shrimp toast at Fish On in Lewes.

SoDel Concepts’ restaurants is featuring grilled cheese among the menu specials.

“Our corporate chef, Doug Ruley, came up with the idea, and the guests just loved it,” said Scott Kammerer, president of SoDel Concepts, which also owns Plate Catering, the food truck Big Thunder Roadside Kitchen, and hospitality management and consulting divisions. “It’s the perfect time of year to enjoy grilled cheese and hot soup, and the chefs have come up with some amazing creations.”

Specials change depending on a chef’s muse. At Catch 54 in Fenwick Island and NorthEast Seafood Kitchen in Ocean View, you might find lobster in the mix –along with homemade tomato bisque. At nearby Papa Grande’s Coastal Taqueria, menu specials have included a blackened shrimp grilled cheese with yucca fries.

Bluecoast Seafood Grill in Bethany Beach has a Monte Cristo-style grilled cheese with lobster and homemade tomato soup. A few miles away at Matt’s Fish Camp, the Caprese-style grilled cheese includes mozzarella and tomatoes.

In Rehoboth Beach, Papa Grande’s Coastal Taqueria has paired Delmarva’s favorite meat, scrapple, with Jack pepper cheese and pickled jalapenos. Lupo Italian Kitchen has used provolone and capicola to create a grilled cheese sandwich.

A crab cake has added signature flavor to the grilled cheese at Matt’s Fish Camp in Lewes, where it’s been served with spicy crab soup. Fish On, also in Lewes, has grilled shrimp toast and served it with Old Bay-dusted fries.
